Has anyone ever seen white lumps develop on a chicken's earlobe? If so, what is known about this? Is it a symptom of something? Our lavender orpington has this. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
Antoinette is a 2yr French BC Maran. She is the queen Bee and beautiful! She once acted like she was going to care for an egg and tried building a nest around her. she has never layed an egg. Will she ever?
Your thoughts please,

We have a French blk copper maran who is now just 11 mos old. I’m just concerned about her starting her egg laying and when it could be. Hubby says to be patient but I’m curious about what others may think.
Any helpful info would be appreciated.

The brooder pen is secure. It’s the same pen that we used when we were integrating the baby girls to the big girls. It worked quite well.
We have been having her in it all day and bringing her in at night. It’s been dropping into high 30’s and low 40’s at night. Only thing is she would be alone...
We have a 21 week old speckled Sussex who we have been nursing back to health. For the last 2 weeks we have been taking her out to the brooder pen (12 sq ft w/ roost bar). She is now running all over and jumping on the roost and communicating with the other girls. 5 are her same age and the...
We are in SoCal desert. Had warm weather and then some rain and then cooler temps. It was after that(about 1 week) that I noticed the runny noses. They are both eating and drinking well. And both are energetic. They are currently separated from the other young ones. We had them in a brooder pen...
I have 2 12 week old pullets who have runny noses. One seemed to have labored breathing. Both have good eating and drinking. I read that I could give colloidal silver. Been using it on them for about 4 days now. The breathing appears normal now but still runny noses. I just read about...
Our run is a total of 540 square feet. We have 10 chickens in total. The younger ones are in a pen that is taking 28 sq ft of that space. We do plan on getting a larger coop for the girls as we know they will need more space for sleeping.
Hope this explains more clearly. 😊
We have 4, 7 mo old hens. Lost 3 due to them being cockerels.
The run is 20x24’.
There are chairs, a small dead tree for perching on the branches, a draw bridge to jump on the coop, and a couple of crates plus we will keep the brooder pen inside with the door fixed to allow a young one to...
Our new girls are now 14 and 12 week old. We have them in their pen inside our chicken run. We have had them in the run with the older girls for 8 days.
We are thinking of releasing them into the flock in a few days. Should we wait longer before we integrate them? What are your thoughts?
