This chicken was suppose to be a French cuckoo marans, it became apparent pretty quickly that she was most likely a different breed😂does anyone have any guesses. She’s very round and the largest of the pullets. Shes the black one on the bench!
I should also add that the noise and some sneezing/coughing maybe are the only symptoms I can see on the pullet. The older hen seemed to have some thick type clear stuff coming out of her mouth some days ago. No swelling or any more obvious symptoms
I had some respiratory trouble with some of my chickens a while back. One hen had facial swelling and other symptoms. She recovered but has been sounding bad with her breathing for a while, especially if I chase or hold her and she has to struggle or run. I tried tylosin but didn’t give it her...
Mine love sugar coated donuts! I didn’t know they couldn’t taste sugar because they love them😂they aren’t as crazy about plain bread. They also love grapes and won’t hardly eat carrots, lettuce or cabbage much if at all.
I had a dog attack one of my hens pretty bad a while back, thankfully before the flies came out so I didn’t have to worry about that. I used blu Kote and vetericyn on her wounds and she is doing great! She limped for a while, and it looked pretty bad. Chickens can actually survive a lot more...
Thank you!! I recently bought some french wheaten marans so hopefully I get some dark browns. I’m excited to hopefully see what color she lays. That should help a lot with discovering her breed!
She came from rural king, I’m not sure what she is. Any guesses? I’m not sure what she was suppose to be as they had multiple signs on some brooders, I think Welsummer and welbar was on them. I don’t remember which she came out of, the other one turned out to be a barred rock.
