I have given nutridrench again and she has started putting weight on it! The super B complex pills just came today so going to crush 1/4 tablet and give to her.
Her right leg she has total control over now. Her left leg she can move it forward but doesn't seem tp be able to spread her toes out of bare weight on it while it is extended. When she moves she will walk on where the leg bends almost. I didnt see any injuries or feel anything different on her...
Hey everyone!
I have a hen who on June 19th could not maintain balance at all. We were out of town but the person watching her separated her. I watched our camera in the coop and she was absolutely fine on the 18th but then the 19th she was flopping all over and falling down. When we got home I...
I have a hen who I noticed 3 days ago had a prolapse with a bit of crust on it. I soaked her in Epsom salt and warm water. I sprayed vetericyn on it and slathered clotrimazole on it. I can never get any of the hard scab off and if I touch it, she freaks out. I am not sure what I can do to help...
Good morning!
My girl Sally has progressively gotten more swollen in her eye the past couple of days. She is having drainage from her nose, she did have bubbly/watery eye until the swelling was too much. I have her on Tiagard water only. I have been giving it to her with a syringe because I...
I've had some that have sounded awful and then after the tiagard have bounced right back. Our rooster was down and sounded awful for 2 days. Now he is back crowing and his normal rooster duties. I have 2 hens though that are not bouncing back at all. Today is day 5 of the tiagard and I am going...
My girls and roo had fowl pox a couple weeks ago and everyone was recovering great and I thought we were done. No one ever had lesions in their mouth. I noticed last night some girls were sneezing and I figured it was from sifting the sand in their run. I then noticed some girls were...
She is acting completely normal! She even laid today and is pooping fine too. It is soft and pliable. I can push on it and it fills almost like liquid filled. I soaked her in Epsom salt water for a bit and noticed she had 2 feathers that were ingrown so I used tweezers and pulled them out of...
I noticed tonight that one of my girls has a soft ball under her vent. She is running around, scratching, eating, and drinking. I have no idea what it is. It is soft if I touch it. I plan on soaking her in Epsom salt in the morning bit not sure what is going on.
Thank you! I will check everyone's mouth tomorrow...hopefully everyone looks good.
I have no standing water for them. Their water buckets have lids and they peck the water to drink. The ditch is right behind the coop and it rained like crazy last week so things were a bit wetter last week.
Thank you!!
The mosquitoes have been so awful the past week or so. I have kept cut herbs in the nesting boxes to help ward them off but I don't think anything is working to keep them away. I will keep an eye out for wet pox and fingers crossed no one gets that.
Thank you! I have vetericyn and blukote on hand so I put that onto a cotton ball and rubbed it onto their combs tonight. I used a different cotton ball for each chicken.
I will get nutri drench and echinacea tomorrow and mix in oregano into their food.
Thank you again!!!
I noticed today that most of my chickens have white spots on their combs. I've looked up conflicting things. Does this look like something that needs to be addressed?
My one chicken that has the pea comb, the comb looks enlarged also.
They are all acting normal, eating, drinking, laying...
I have noticed all my chickens have the black scab on one or both of their feet. They have sand in one part of their run with an attached run that is now dirt because they tore all the grass up...shocker haha. I keep the sand sifted and clean as much as possible. The dirt part doesnt ever get...
I was wondering if that's what it was. I realized 3 chickens had similar bumps so that all got an Epsom salt foot bath and put into a different pen in the grass for a bit. I'll keep soaking their feet and see if it can get the bump down.
Thank you!!!!
Hey all!
When I was out given my chickens some watermelon treat I noticed one of my chickens had a bump on the top of her foot in-between her two toes. She stands and runs on it fine but was holding it up more so while eating than the others. Is this something that I need to treat immediately...
We have 11 chickens. 10 are hens and one cockerel. I have had them all since they were chicks, they are all about 8 months old. 8 of the chickens roost on the one side of the coop. We have two roosting bars each about 4 foot across. They are about 4 feet apart at the same height. One on the left...
