    Incubator temp

Did your chick survive and did others hatch? I’m in a similar situation on day 22 and just wondered if there’s hope.

Can you incubate at 95 degrees 60% humidity?

I saw this post and I have similar problem. I thought I had a good thermometer, but I must not have. My eggs seemed to be developing well until day 18 when I saw little movement. I found my adjustable thermometer and tried it and it seems the temp has been closer to 95-96 the whole time...

Any experienced OPINIONS on GQF Mfg. #3018 Thermometer/Hygrometer?

I wish a knowledgeable person had answered your question as I to am looking for the same info. Here is a web page that may help. I think I'm going to try a cotton shoelace on the end and see if it works. I saw this on you tube. http://www.gqfmfg.com/PDF/3018%20instructions.pdf

    Silkie thread!

Can anyone explain the color "blue"? I have been told some black with gray are blue and that white with gray are blue. I do not want to advertise blue if that is not true. I'm very confused. The only one I'm sure about is the partridge.

    Silkie thread!

Thank you for the information. I never knew there was so much to learn about Silkies. They are so cute and tiny. Our power went off for about 10 minutes tonight and they cried and cried until I put a flashlight in their box and covered it. When the power came back on one was curled up to the...

2014 breeding season begins, post your results

I need some help and advice. I have tried for 3 years to hatch peafowl in an incubator because my hen would not sit. I only had success with 2 chicks. Last month my peacock , who had already shed his train, died suddenly and we only had one peahen so we let her out of the pen for the first...

    Broody hen

I kept thinking of posting this question for a few days, but just did it this morning. Then I went back outside and there she was off nest and stretching. None have hatched, but 1 is beginning to crack the shell. Now the real waiting begins!

    Broody hen

I have 1 hen that has been sitting too long. Last year she successfully hatched 1, but a few others died under her. I check through out the day and evening, to see when she is off the nest so I can check the nest, but I haven't caught her off in a week. Should I try to move her off to be...

My Peachicks Of 2014 *** Will Have Lots Of Pictures ***

Thank you for responding. We are in the midlands of SC and yes I had a light in the pen for warmth. I am using a hydrometer from Walmart, but also 2 other thermometers in each. I did use bleach to kill bacteria in both before setting them up. The hen seems as healthy as last year and nothing...
