    I'm not 100%, although with five birds getting 4 eggs a day (sometimes three) I assumed, and since I've seen the one guy crow often and no one else, and I've seen him mount everyone else.     I would be surprised if it was a space issue. 16 square feet of space for 5 quail puts them at more than three square feet per bird which is way above the suggested minimum. They are much smaller than chickens. The largest is only slightly bigger than a grapefruit.
