Something two nights in a row has gotten into my coop and killed my juvenile 6 week old ducklings night one (decapitated, crop/chest/neck eaten), then on night two the 1 week old babies were eaten pretty much whole (found remnants of a foot and a duckling bill inside the coop but absolutely...
they are good! survived the night with no supplemental heat so they definitely were snuggled under mom all night!
she does peck rather hard for my liking, but as the other person who commented stated, i’ve noticed it’s only when she’s unhappy with what the babies are doing to correct them. They...
Hi!
First want to start off by saying i did SO MUCH research before deciding to get ducklings for my broody duck, and also have a back up plan in place in case she doesn’t accept them.
this question is for anyone who understands broody duck behavior

Hi!
So I have always heard that silkies are more prone to injury or illness simply due to things like lack of intelligence LOL or like lack of visibility (example being all other breeds sheltering from rain and the silkies just standing there and then being more susceptible to becoming ill)...
Hello!
Based off these photos and the fact that this Delaware chicken is around 10 weeks old, would you venture to guess roo or hen?

Hi friends!
I purchased this chick from tractor supply who was labeled white leghorn, but as her wing feathers have come in there’s like grey/black spots on it so i’m curious what breed she could be?
Through some brief searching I discovered the California White breed however she doesn’t look...
I THINK the one in the middle with the copper coloring around the neck/hackles is a cockerel, and the other two are pullets, but can somebody with a better eye for these things confirm for me as best they can?
The help is very much appreciated!

I cant see vessels or embryos because of how dark the egg is, but i’ve been outlining the air cell and it...
