Ellie, that is a funny story. I am glad he is safe and back home where he belongs!
Can I ask what kind of rooster he is. We lost our rooster a couple of weeks ago to a predator so I am really glad for a happy ending to your story!
Lisa
lol...Tammy, that is at the front of our minds too...we will see what happens in the next week...they aren't even gone and we miss them...how silly is that!!!
But of course we insist we are not chicken people...hmmm, that could be a problem!! lol
Dad and I were holding out for some little...
Thanks Cmom and Qi Chicken!
The plan is to return the girls to their original owner sometime next week if the search we do turns up nothing and he doesn't just come back on his own by then.
We enjoyed them greatly and if the neighbors all complain that there is nothing fun to do or talk about...
Yes, it could have been a fox, my mother also said she has seen a coyote...I haven't but it could have been!
I will do one more search of the yard and neighboring yards!
Thank you everyone for your replies!
Lisa
Thank you Tammy!
That is the first thing I thought of myself and both myself and my sister looked very carefully under every tree and even up into the trees. We looked everywhere and could not find him at all. The girls are very sad and not eating very well right now. Makes me very sad for...
We thought the girls would convince him that life was better living inside then in the trees and when that didn't happen fast enough we decided to try to help that idea along. We just didn't act fast enough.
The neighbors all knew that he roosted in the trees in our yard and was happy to let...
Hi all!
I think we lost our wild rooster this week. The turkeys are back and he could be off with them like he has done the last 2 years he has been around but I found a bunch of small feathers, no body and no large feathers, but I think he may be gone!
We are terribly sad about this but...
The rooster was used to visiting up to 5 neighbors so when we did our search, we included the yards of those neighbors. The feathers we found were in our backyard but the far back of the yard where he didn't usually go.
We are still hoping for the best as the turkeys are still around.........it...
I believe our wild rooster is dead. He has been missing for a couple of days, and today after walking around the backyard I notice 2 spots of feathers.
My dad thinks it is not the rooster as there is no body and no large feathers, just a bunch of small feathers (should there be large...
Ours is not your typical story at all!
We got 2 hens simply to give the wild rooster some girlfriends and hopefully lure him into the coop we made for them at night so that he will be safe and have some place to go during the winter months instead of sleeping in the trees during the cold months...
I have a hen with a caked rearend also and was wondering if we could just cut the feathers if we can't clean it off? Would this hurt the hen if we did cut those feathers?
I only have 1 idea...Little Ceaser's Pizza kits. The can sell more then just the pizza's, and everyone loves them! I believe it is a good value also for the buyer.
I hope someone else has some other ideas for you!
Lisa
Hi 3goodeggs,
If you are serious about getting this dog (and it sounds like you are), then you should probably Google/Yahoo map it from the location the dog is at to your house/neck of the woods.
Then post it here so that those in the area of the Map can see if they would be willing to take on...
Of our mystery rooster.
Someone has said he is a Mutt, and others say he is an American game.
Any other ideas?
Here is his head shot...
And here are 2 pics to show his coloring...
Thanks,
Lisa
