Great news! Glad to hear your thoughts, we are first time chicken owners so this is all new to us. We just had our Blue Ameraucana crow a few days ago and had to rehome him to my parents, we can’t keep roosters. This was a bummer as we wanted a blue egg layers

Got a pair of BCM from Myers this year. They are just over 14 wk old. One has a lot of cooper around the neck, the other does not. The one this less cooper neck looks a little suspect of a cockerel to me. What are your thoughts?

I have two “Oliver eggers” that look similar. Could have feathers on their feet if they are crossed with Marans. ( I am no expert, just my thoughts).

Just over 14weeks old, I am guessing this is one of the “Blue Orpingtons”. I ordered from Myers and already had one rooster I had to rehome. Hoping this is a pullet. What are your thoughts?

update: HE started crowing a few days ago. Had to rehome him to my parents as I cannot keep roosters.

I will have to look into that. I am hoping I can just move soon, and find some land I can keep roosters as well. :fl

I am hoping not, this is the only blue layer I ordered, plus I cannot keep males. Luckily, my parents have agreed to take any males I might have. Think next time I will go with the starter pullets and not the day old, but I wanted the kids to enjoy the babies and watching them grow.

I am hoping it’s just a Reddening thing, it does seem to change color through out the day. I will post some more pics in a few weeks. Thank you!

Thanks! Yeah, I have noticed I have two birds that their combs will get darker and lighter. So maybe there is still hope! I will update in a few weeks, thank you!

First time chicken keeper here. I ordered a mixed flock of “females” from Myers hatchery. I have a few suspect males, however, this one is my most “concerning” one at the moment. Hatch date April 24th 2023, just over 8 weeks old. Any guess on gender right now, or still too early to tell?
