I though my Girl's comb was just dry from the winter but it recently has gotten worse so definitely not dry. Does this look like favus to anyone else? It looks very powdery in person and she has no other symptoms. My other girls look fine. Also if you agree it's favus what have yall has luck...
Yes absolutely!! It's been getting over 100 degrees where I'm at. My big girls do just fine but I've noticed my young ones have a hard time. If it's under 95 they're outside. It's finally starting to cool down so hopefully soon they'll be fully outside.
Could be your girls laying a morning egg and letting the world know or they could just be happy to be out. I have a dominique thay just sings with joy as soon and the coop door opens in the morning. Some girls are just much more chatty than others.
Oh yeah this issue will never go away ha ha. All my girls will just lay in which ever box gets laid in first. Never know which box it will be that day, but all the eggs will always be in one box! I agree that as long as there isn't any bullying it's not much of a problem. Make gathering easier 😆
I love pine pellets in my brooder but not so much with my older girls. I find that the big girls try to eat the pellets and that makes me super nervous. You could try hemp cuttings. I use them in my coop and they are amazing! Can't praise them enough.
Interesting! I got her from Meyers chick hatchery and they don't disclose the breed mix. Thanks for the insight!! I love it and think it's super cute 😍
