Raising livestock, whether in your backyard or in the country can be rewarding. But, it does have its heartaches, as well. I received chicks yesterday and had a very small (runt) in the bunch. In the animal world it is survival of the fittest and chicks are no exception. The runt passed away...
That's a great idea. I am going to put them in the coop tonight and watch them come out in the morning. It is a lot like their brooder except a lot bigger. They have been in a small portion of the run before but they have never come down the ramp. It should be quite a show.
Hello, my wife and I are new to chickens in our 60s. We have 10 chicks, all hens. We are excited to be in this community to help and get help. It's great that there are people from every where who are in the chicken biz for whatever reason.
First of all, hello. I have 4 week old chicks who are a little stir crazy in the house. They have a new run and coop and they are the first chickens to go in. It is 95-100 degrees day, and 70s at night. Anyone have thoughts?
