Hey guys! It's been a couple months and unfortunately both are now crowing, and are starting to look like cockerels. Thanks for giving me your advice! I really appreciate it and I know that sillkies are hard to sex so I don't blame anyone for thinking they were girls, I thought so myself 😊
Hey! I've been around Buff Orpintons and Rhode Island Reds for a while now, and I agree that the Orpington is a roo and the RIR is a hen. Good luck with your chickens!
I was having issues with my waters also, and it turned out they weren't level. Make sure that it is level and if it still doesn't help you probably should replace it.
They only stand up straight if they are very attentive, and I thought they had a little bit of deeper voices but I don't think the voice matters... at least that what I've heard people say. If I spook them by accident they usually stand up real straight and look around but my Easter Egger does...

Hey! I bought four chicks from Kahoots about 4 months ago (16 weeks.) I got two Silkies, an Easter Egger, and a Lavender Orpington. I can tell that the Lavender Orpington is a rooster, he has red comb, pointy saddle feathers and he started crowing. The Easter Egger is also pretty clearly a hen...
If he's not been aggressive to your hens and he's grown up with them it should be fine unless you are worried about crowing. When introducing your chicks try separating them in a different cage but have it in the coop so that they can get to know your chickens better. Even hens will fight other...
