It’s been a while since I applied neosporin, it has viens running across it so it is not ready to hatch. I’m worried about it drowning as there seems to be fluid in the egg and the duck is rarely making any movement. He is also a day or two past 28 days and every other egg that looks viable has...
This duck is a day or two late, hasn’t pipped yet but I can see movement inside the egg. I opened up the shell and not sure if he is shrink wrapped or not. Should I open the membrane or wait?
Update:
Noticed veins on the air sack side, I will not help the duck until tomorrow if I need to. I did remove a small area of just the shell, but I didn’t do much if anything to the membrane so I believe the duck should be ok.
@casportpony many of the ducks are starting to hatch, number 2 is still alive, but I am worried that it is unable to hatch. How long should I wait before I help?
Ok, I read it. I think many of these eggs have started to zip last night but have stoped. Or do they sometimes make large pip holes?
I do not see any bruising
I am not sure when it did that. It sas face down so I didn’t see it until I picked it up. They are just two different eggs, one was the non piping egg.
Thank you!
What should I do about the one that piped on the wrong side, do you think it could hatch on its own?
I was unable to candle that one on the piping side, there is not air over ther. However I can feel the egg pulsing slightly so it is still alive.
Ok candled them, every one of the ones that piped have motion when candled. A few have only internally piped, I saw motion. Then the rest have not piped internally and I could not see motion.
