Hi,
I incubated my chickens at home from mixed breeds. Where i got eggs from, chickens were laying quite a lot eggs daily. My chickens started laying eggs at 4-6months and 6 hens layed lets say 3 to 5 eggs daily for first 2 months. Soon, i added 1 older hen to their flock and after a few weeks...
2 chicks hatched on day 19/20, 7 or maybe 8 are still in eggs alive (i saw them moving), others were dead. I am searching for a reason why they died because 3 embryos died in early days lets say to 7th day, 3 died around 15 day and others died around day 10.. i incubated eggs 3 times now and...
I am sure. My last message was a little wierd written. So when I woke up, it was 46 deg. C. and 33% humidity. 2 chicks broken their shell and were still alive, because I heard them, for other 24 I dont know. It is home made incubator and before (last 2 incubatings) I didnt have problems like...
I have some problems with incubator. Today when I woke up incubator had 46 degrees c. It is day 19. And two chickens already broke the shell. I hope they didnt die :(
Hi. So today is day 18 of incubating my eggs. Yesterday around 10 pm I moved my eggs from auto turning tray to net where they should hatch. Incubator had 37.5 deg. C. Today at 8am incubator had 23 degrees C. So eggs were probably / maybe without heat for 8 hours. What do you think, are chickens...
Oh and photos I uploaded are not new, there has been shome changes, I added temperature sensor on cable so I can drop it down on eggs and I used LEDs instead of light bulb for light source
Hello, I need advice on how to install a heater in an egg incubator. I made an egg incubator with an arduino controller and automatic egg turning. It measures approximately 40cm x 50cm x 20cm. I used a cartridge heater (40W) as a heater, it is a small heater used in 3d printers. I put this...
Hi, 4 chickens hatched and 11 died in eggs. They were big, they probably started "eating" yolk. So I think they drowned. What do you think?
And some pictures of hatched chickens:
I will send more, I didnt want to disturbe them too much ;)
Oh, everywhere I found information about humidity it said that it should be around 50% and temperature around 37.3°C so I am happy you gave me information. I set temperature a little low because I probably "coocked" last round of eggs.
Today 1 chicken hatched and 2 are on their way, I hope...
Thanks, I compared my eggs to this photos and yes, air pocket is similar size or even bigger. Yesterday eggs looked like day 18 in photo you send.. I will wait and see. Thanks!
And what do you think about humidity? Should I set it to like 65% or something like that because they need longer to hatch and that enough water will evapourate from eggs?
