Yup, she can stand, walk/limp, jump up to roost & is eating and drinking. There’s no smell coming from her either. Her leg wasn’t swollen yesterday, but like most injuries, days after it gets worse :(
I unfortunately just lost my job so I cannot spend any extra money, I’ve dealt w a lot of...
I have a blue copper maran that was bit by a dog the other day, she has pretty decent wounds, but not terrible at all. But she got bit on her leg, it’s been 3 days I believe, today her leg is pretty swollen at the top of the thigh, she obviously bruised. But it’s swollen, yellow, and slightly...
I genuinely do not know what happened. Came outside to two roosters on top of one (6 month BCM) he cannot seem to hold his neck up and seems kinda lethargic. I have him in a box in a dark room and that’s all I can do right now. He was closing his eyes while I was holding him, otherwise he’s...
Which in the first picture, the tiny black thing is the supposed OE, I’ll have to check in the morning but I can’t remember if she’s the one with feathering or not.
I was thinking OE/ OE mix as well
But I got 3 OE (2 unfortunately passed :’() but one was a Roo, 2 were hens, one had feathered legs & one doesn’t. I was thinking maybe a blue copper maran?
I had for sure a pullet black copper maran, she resembled her in the face but completely different...
These are the best pictures I can get, she’s so skiddish and hates to be held (and she’s molting so I understand)
But is this a canker?
Currently Wednesday, around Saturday? I noticed her mouth was swollen, it’s getting more swollen and it’s causing her beak to become crossed/misaligned
When I...
One of my girls was kinda wheezing/sneezing yesterday, it sounded more like she had something stuck in her sinus
Today she has a very minimal open mouth breezing/gasping motion
Her comb is not blue, still very red.
I’ve started her in denegard but she’s not super interested in food and water...
i have quite literally over 30 hens, he has huge spurs, he’s an asshole, and him and his brother have picked her as a favorite. why wouldn’t i be convinced “the man did it?!?!”
thank you. 100% thank you. if you read through all the posts, i was concerned about the feather mess...
update!! i did get 98% of that dang feather mess out!!! it looks so much better and i hope it does start to heal now.
My second issue, it’s hard to tell by the pictures posted bc they’re grainy, but the fat piece of skin, is actually folded into the wound, would i have to try to refold that...
here’s an updated picture, there’s two spots where it’s super dried mix with feathers. i am CERTAIN it is feathers now. it honestly looks a lot better, no warmth, no smell ect. but it’s the feathers that i cannot get out. idk how to loosen them up without hurting her further. my camera quality...
funny enough, the only thing she’s really ate today has been eggs lol.
were you able to tell what was feathers and what wasn’t skin? i just can’t really tell what i’m looking at. it definitely is feathery but u think it’s the ointment making it look strange.
here’s another picture. her skin is definitely pulled apart, i know that will heal. but under the flap of skin is either a mess of feathers or dead skin i have no idea what i am looking at. i used the spray solution but im not sure if i should try to get that out or what. i dont want to cause...

I bought everything you said and i’m going to try again and re clean it that way.
her feathers from the betadine are a bit stiff, i’m going to use dawn and clean that. how do i know what is feathers only and not skin? there’s weird patches...
thank you for the reply! This is the best picture i can get :/
it looks worse than i thought originally, what really is causing me to not want to go too deep to clean is i really don’t know what is skin and what’s not. I’ve cut a bit of feather out of the way, the circled area is where her skin...
