    Silkies head feathers missing

Looks like the bird with good feathers has been doing some bullying/asserting dominance. This also looks like problems we've had due to an aggressive rooster that would pull out feathers while mating. I would try giving them some extra protein in their diet so they can grow back the feathers...

Hey, Will Raccoons Eat My Chickens?

I've always been told that if a 4 year old can unlock it than so can a raccoon. I don't think that two locks would make a difference. If they can unlock both than they would and if they can't unlock one or both than you would still only need the one they can't unlock. I'm pretty sure two locks...

Hey, Will Raccoons Eat My Chickens?

I wouldn't know about whether to trap or shoot it, but it definitely would eat your birds if it can reach them in any way. Triple check your coop for holes or areas where it could enter. Replace parts or the coop that are weak for heavier duty options and make sure the run and coop are entirely...

    Rooster or Hen?

    I would say that it's a Cockerel.

    Jersey Giant late to mature?

I have had this with Speckled Sussex. Most likely it's just genetics but it could be a Vitamin D Deficiency. She's pretty well feathered out so I would just assume she's a little late to mature. Most likely over the next few weeks her comb and wattles will grow and she'll start getting ready to...

Put your bets in “gender” 😂

The black one is X2 The others are probably girls but you might get lucky, (or unlucky really.)

Is this Easter egger a roo or a hen?

    X2 Could be a pullet but, I'm thinking it's a cockerel.

Is this Easter egger a roo or a hen?

The comb makes me think it's a pullet, but the feathers are more similar to a cockerels. X2 Try to get some saddle feather pics.

    Disabled Chickens Forum

I have a disabled bird. She has a crossbeak and is unable to walk. Her legs have been messed up for all most of her life but she has good life quality and seems very peaceful. I have a picture but it won't load.

    Praire Bluebell Eggers

You can wing sex birds once they grow some of their first real feathers. This should happen in a few days.

    Barnvelder Chick Sexing

×2 A different color variety or maybe a mixed up chick that's not a Barnevelder. You can also tell the boys and girls apart by their wings. A girl has two rows or feathers at different lengths and a boy has all of the growing in feathers at the same length.

    2 chicks are strangers

As long as you got them from a place with good conditions and they're similar in age they will be perfectly fine.

Getting Narragansett's to set on eggs

I wouldn't risk putting all the fertile eggs out at once, but maybe put out one and add a few fake eggs or infertile chicken eggs. Personally I've never done this with turkeys....

    Myoplasmosis in eggs

The Internet really doesn't say anything about this. My guess is that the bird hatches depending on the amount of infection and does infect other birds. I really don't know and I would just only buy fertile eggs from certified and professional breeders to reduce the risk of introducing it to...

    Myoplasmosis in eggs

I have never heard of this, my guess is that the only way for the eggs to get it would be genetics. (Don't quote me on this)
