    Some of mine sleep on the roost, others in the nest boxes. I like to let them choose, and since both choices are protected from predators and have about the same ventilation, I don't worry about it. However- I clean the nest boxes more often when this is happening.

    How often do you clean your nestboxes? Hens tend to get infections of the oviduct from dirty nestboxes. Simply picking out the manure/urates when you pick up the eggs (or at least every few days when the birds are not laying) is a good practice, along with adding a handful of fresh shavings...

    New Member interested in ducks and poultry health

    I'm a new member and have a few elderly hens. I hope to create a new small flock of Runner Ducks in our backyard. I have training and experience in poultry health and am always interested in learning from other poultry owners.
