I picked up 2 Turkens plus 2 ISA at TS 6 weeks ago, and purposefully picked a black turken that was super energetic along with the yellow. The black one was much smaller than the yellow and the 2 isas which I didn't notice till I got home. She is still quite a bit smaller, the yellow is a...
Two Turkens looking good I think. Not seeing any male signs so far. The isas seem pretty straight forward on sex as they are supposed to be sex linked. Really liking this black ones colors. They are 6 weeks old
Awesome sounds good. Ya I lost 6 out of 7 and the 7th never showed any signs. I didn't know to check their throat at the time that would have helped. There was one girl who lived the longest who did develop a swollen eye that started to bleed but other than that no external lesions. But when...
Id like to know the symptoms if you Wouldnt mind, just an outline might be helpful. Mine were mostly sudden with a couple sick for a bit before passing. Nothing makes sense and I tried to get a vet over but he was out of town and wasn't back till it was all over. No other vet in my area deals...
I was wondering if my flock losses last year were from wet fowl pox as the symptoms seemed to match the most. Can i ask How did you figure out it was wet fowl pox
I've recently gotten some babies. Woohoo!! Happy to be a part of this forum and this is my first thread after my introduction. Recently (13 days ago) picked up 2 Isa Brown pullets and 2 Naked neck pullets from tractor supply. They are 2 weeks old tomorrow. Her they are. 😁
Haha well,
I took out a shelf in the coop where they would lay instead of roosting on the bars, and replaced with more roosting bars.( even tho I scraped the poop daily off the shelves and sanitized occasionally it may have still been harboring pathogens) plus they would drop and break eggs up...
For about a week only. They were from next door so I was able to see them. Tho the white duck was pretty neglected he didn't seem sick, but had weepy eyes. I should have kept them separated longer.
Here's a pick of them from this last August eating curds.
Apparently there are some from what I've read. Mareks, Newcastle, and others. But that's just what I read. But It could have been bird flu for sure. We also seem to live under a duck migration path and one of my neighbors attracts all kinds of birds with bird feeders and such. One next door...
Ya I actually held one when she went. She was lethargic and not looking good that morning, picked her up and was holding her and she just tensed up then went limp and a ton of liquid drained outta her mouth for quite a bit. A couple were lethargic for part of a day then we're just face down. 1...
