Hello, my 2 years old hen seems to have both legs white. When she was young, they were very yellow. She lays everyday an egg. She seems to lay down more than usual. What could be the reason?
Hello. I am coming back because after having isolated my rooster and adjusted the diet of my hens, I have tried to bring him back to the flock for a couple of hours. Eventually the chickens got back to peck him on his tail. I see the two highest in ranking eating the roots and hurting him again...
He walks strange but he is very active being a rooster, he attacks the dog and birds and he tries mounting hens. From what I could see, he tries then he falls a bit. But it could be early? I do not know the breed, I hatched fertilised eggs and right now I have no space for more chickens. Giving...
I have only hens, all less than one year old. I kept him because he is a “life” and I did not want to waste it. I am vegetarian and I would never harm animals 😊
Indeed, he has the fingers (I assume you call them like that?) not straight and he walks strange. But he does his job as a rooster. He is the only one by the way. Will hens attack a rooster even if handicapped?
By the way I was shocked when I saw all that blood …
Dear all. Today after 10 days I have tried to re-introduce my rooster in the flock as I saw him doing better and after having applied a deterrent to prevent pecking. Result is that my hens have pecked him badly and he started bleeding again. I have confined him again. He has lots of broken tail...
Thanks for your answer, this forum is amazing!
Coop is small but they have about 700 square meters to walk around.
They eat a mix of seeds and pellet, all bio. Proteins are 10%. Enclosed picture.
I noticed he misses all the tail feathers and where he bleeds is a broken one.
Hello,
In my small flock (6 chickens in total), I have a rooster that was born handicapped. One of my chickens has started pecking him in the butt to a point to make him bleeding.
What is the root cause and how can I help him healing and stop this behavior?
Thanks for your support!
Good evening. My hen seems weaker but at the same time she has drank a lot and ate lots of mais. I had to force her a lot though.
Droppings seem less liquid but hard to tell.
I have continued giving her water with vitamins and minerals.
Difficult to find a specialised vet in the area.
I am...
Good morning. My hen is still very depressed and but ate a little bit of banana. She still does not have a big appetite though. I gave her calcium and vitamin d. She is inside right now. She has yellow droppings as you can see from this picture. And if it is something else? A few weeks ago, she...
Good afternoon.
My 1 year old hen is sick! Over the past few weeks she has been laying eggs with soft shell alternated with some good eggs. Since yesterday, I see her moving slow, eating a little and she stays in the coop quite often.
Yesterday I also noticed yellow / greenish poop stuck to...
