    I am about to order 2 African females from Metzer! So glad not to be alone. I have a large brooder box under an overhang. It's kind of dark there and away from my ducks, chickens, and bachelor goose. Will that be an issue for the little girls?

    Absolutely likely to be mixed breed. The couple who sold him to me were evicted from a rather haphazard duck and chicken "farm." I kinda felt like I rescued him. I would really like to find 2 females for him, but no luck so far.

    I have what I think is a gander African or Brown Chinese. What confuses me is the color of the knob - also, no dewlap. Very vocal. Is this a male or female; African or brown Chinese?

    I can move it. She doesn't like it, but her reaction isn't hysteria, just avoidance. I believe it is actually her hip that is out of place. The leg and foot look okay. When I carry her, her good leg paddles, but the bad one doesn't move much.

    Yes, I can touch it and even move it a bit. I can't see any open wounds on her leg. Her back is healing and the feathers are just barely reappearing.

    It's been 6 days. She has rested, gotten Niacin & B12 in her water twice a day. Today I put her in a baby pool. She is standing on 1 leg (pool is shallow) and a bit of floating. Here is are pics of her left leg. Seems out of socket as opposed to broken. Advice??

    She has been isolated for 5 days, now. She preens some, but I'm not sure it's enough to keep oils distributed for protection. Didn't think of a vitamin deficiency, but logical since she was being kept from getting enough food. She seems content; eats and drinks well. Just doesn't make an effort...
