Thanks Moonshiner. I was guessing girls but knew that you all know way more than I do - just finishing up my first year with ducks. And, most likely wishful thinking. I so need girls, and now likely more boys. May have to contemplate an all make flock! -

DuBois is a Cayuga/Rouen and Bayou is a Cayuga/Saxony. Moms are Cayugas. -

Egg 2 is marked with a date of 11/27 and 4 is marked 12/7, easily the newest egg in there, having been the last leg laid before the girls stopped laying eggs for Winter. Thanks for your help!- 1DuckMore

The last egg looks a greal deal like the first duckling, “Persephone Dubois” did. The new duckling’s egg looked much like it too, but I could see motion, tring to internally pip. -

I have two new ducklings! We know that mom is a Cayuga however the dads are unknown. I’m guessing the older of the ducklings is a Rouen/Cayuga cross because of the stripes around her eyes. I have tried to hatch my Cayuga ducklings eggs for a couple months after a few of my ducks were killed or carried away. This is my first year with Ducks and I hatched them myself in the Spring. Kathi, I am hatching a friend tonight! So glad as you are quite right, my solo duckling is more needy and while I love being the object of affection, I cannot hold hee 24/7! The mirror does help out quite a bit, but a real friend will be best.
