Is it possible to identify the breed of ducks I have at about 4 weeks. I thought they were runners but Google lens is talking about a Blue Swedish and a Rouen. Two of them seem to of developed their quack. 😍
Whiskey seems to be doing much better as she is much more stable on her feet. She does...
Just wanted to post an update...as I hate when I go to reading a thread and it dead ends. I think Whiskey is standing more, she is still wobbly on her feet. They are so cute, Whiskey is the only one that has got her quack so far and their little feathers are coming in. We filled up a short tote...
Okay, I got the three ducklings in their own 100 gallon stock tank...it looks small with everything in it. I'll look for something bigger, as I need to get more female ducklings since these three were unsexed. Hopefully with their own dedicated and unmedicated feed that will help
Got back home and the wife said she kept falling over. Took a video in case it helps see anything. https://photos.app.goo.gl/E427SXznzJaiBXDS7 I'm thinking of maybe trying to put the ducks in their own brooder to get them away from the medicated chick food and let them eat their own duck...
Whiskey is just a few days past 2 weeks old. Whiskey is larger than the other two ducks that we got at the same time. When we weighed them last time Whiskey was 10 g heavier than the other two. I've had to run down the road to go check on another ladies heat, just hoping nothing happens to...
This morning I heard my duckling carrying on about something. We came in here to the same duckling, we named Whiskey, over on its back. We got Whiskey back on his/her feet, but Whiskey has done fell back over a couple more times. Got my bird feeding syringe in last night that @Miss Lydia told me...
I wish I could keep them together with the chicks and get them to eat their separate food. They're all so cute, they all cuddle up together at the end of the tote each night to sleep. They're spending very little time underneath the brooder heater anymore.
Forum members have linked this and said that is a myth. It is recommended they be fed unmedicated food but research has shown it's not horrible for them from my reading.
Yeah, just south of Greensboro. Picked up the Durvet and gave each of the ducklings probably about 1/4 mL which I think was about a couple of drops. I want to make sure all of my little ducklings have strong legs. The plan is to get some female ducks as we have no idea what sex these are and...
Yes, we have a small dish with chick grit inside the brooder. We will definitely keep an eye on the duckling. Thank you again for all of the helpful advice!
😥The little duckling was fine then it randomly started again. I took a short video clip in case it helps, the plan is to get the Duvent B injection and some meal worms tomorrow and feed the duckling. How much should the duckling get? Currently, it's on its little feet, seems off balance at...
The little duckling is walking around, as I was watching the duckling earlier I noticed that one in particular will walk somewhere and then sit down it seems more so. We went to Tractor Supply today and they did not have the viatamin B and all of the other feed stores showing they carried it...
I just realized I didn't even respond to half of your post. It is nutritional yeast, we are big into clean cooking. Currently, the chicks and ducklings are all inside of a 107-gallon outdoor chest like you would use to put a water hose or outdoor tools inside of, I wanted to give the chicks and...
Okay, well that is good that the medicated food isn't bad for them. We did help the little duckling, my little wife was ready to cry thinking she had done something wrong when she got the duckling out to spend some time with it. We initially just helped it back onto its little feet and it would...
I think these are Runner ducks, I will have to get my scale to weigh the duckling. So if they don't need the medicated food will they need to be separated from the chicks or how does that work?
