    Integrating new chicks

Just an update. I did add some fun things in the run such as logs and varing perches/hiding spots but ultimately we decided to add an open air run under tree coverage for them! Thank you for all the advice, you can see my three new chicks in the run area and my big girls haven't even bothered...

    Integrating new chicks

We have 11 total counting the 3 new chicks. They free range occasionally but unfortunately my one dog has a high prey drive so mostly they stay in their run. Thanks for the example! I will definitely be adding more to the run for fun, we are planning to extend the run another length because they...

    Integrating new chicks

So the coop is 12x12 with the two level roosting bars. The run is also 12x12..I did add another waterer and feeder to the run as well. But I am thinking the run is too small? We plan on extending it further with an uncovered but fenced in area

    Integrating new chicks

Hello I know this has been talked about a bunch on this thread because I've read every single one and most end with "let them work it out" which I have been trying to do but I think its actually making my 9 week old chicks seem more isolated. I did the initial integration within the coop in the...

My husband and I are building my chickens a new coop with a covered run but I want to add a "free ranging area" that is covered by netting for day time when I am home and can watch them (A...

    Intergrating baby rooster

I recently got my first set of chicks to raise. I have 6 females right now that are about a week old. I wanted to add a baby rooster to my flock so I can handle him early on. Someone is giving away a 4 week old rooster that I wanted to get. My question is can this rooster be in the same brooder...
