These are the pics my family managed to take. Does that little spot look like bumblefoot? would a spot that small make it so she cant walk right whatsoever?
We plan to give it a vinegar bath later today just to clean it up and see if its a wound or just a callous. im not sure what else to do...
we live in a small community in alaska, there is no vet with an xray that isnt a 2 hour drive away.
This is her as a of this morning. the swelling has come down immensely. she has issues flattening out her left ankle. cant quite get it there. we have had to pack the splint so that it isnt...
I will take some more photos today once she is out of the coop.
The swelling began after the 2nd week because i accidentally wrapped it a bit too tight. i truly hope i helped more than harmed. We are using 3d printed splints for her.
these are the pictures i have of her in the splint.

Howdy, a while back my dear duck greta got attacked by a hawk. she made it through though and is living quite a good life. but now she has a new issue.
Her left leg was giving her a lot of trouble. so i splinted it, and wrapped it with bandages for the last 2 weeks. now its gotten very swollen...
the issue is she has a fairly healthy appetite, and the stool is not lacking in substance. its just a deep green outside and a bright green inside. i am worried she has a virus or infection of some sort.
She is surprisingly alert and aware, i think the worst is over. she seems to be almost herself again. although the wound does hurt, she seems to be doing better about it today. she is also surprisingly hungry, but tends to eat more when she has company.
i am following this articles advice on...
we managed to bandage her up with some bacitracin and gauze. im just worried about her eating and drinking. she is in a kennel with an electric blanket on top to keep her warm, but not hot. with water and food. tomorrow before i take off the bandage and clean the wound, i am gonna let her see...
i have bacitracin, but not much else. need to pick up more if im going to bandage her for a week. i will take pictures before we bandage her for reference. she seems to be doing okay. i think she is lonely. but the childrens motrin helped her sleep, i could tell that much at least.
thanks...
thanks a ton for replying. she has been thru a lot. i will put bacitracin on it in the morning. its 4 am here in alaska, and i would prefer if she rested for a while longer. i woke her up at about 330am, and she immediately ate some food. although she seems a bit reluctant to drink the...
howdy, my duck greta has been attacked by an eagle. her throat was torn, but her esophagus and windpipe are intact, exposed but intact. I am trying to save the duck if at all possible. i was thinking of suturing her up, but im not sure if that is the best call.
we have already given her a short...
