They are! They’re my sweetest ones. Both like to come and sit with me. I’m seriously debating keeping him… we’ve already rehomed three other roos of different breeds.
We’re good with that :) My daughter picked them out and she’s obsessed 🤣 One was just much lighter when we got them so I just assumed. This is our first flock so we’re still learning color variations.
Yes! This is the inspiration I was looking for. Thank you so much!
This is the coop I have. The bottom of coop box area is a tray slides out to clean, so removing the innards is literally just sliding it out. We living in Alabama, so we have crazy weather. It’ll be triple digits in August but...
Has anyone expanded/converted a Producer’s Pride Sentinel coop+run from TCS into a larger coop? We are looking at having ten-ish hens total and it’s getting too small QUICK. Our flock current range between 6-10wks, so it’s not crazy crowded, but it won’t be long. My dad gifted me this coop, so...
Maybe two weeks? We had initially moved all of them out together (15 total) and when we did 2 other Brahmas from the same batch dropped dead. I panicked moved this one back inside. We brought our smallest silkie back in, too, so the Brahma would have company. The silkie has reintegrated just...
We moved our little Brahma chick (approx 6-7 wks) out to the coop a couple of nights ago and I think it’s struggling to adjust. *We live in Alabama, so it’s plenty warm enough outside*
It was in the same brooder with the chicks that are already outside but we gave it a little extra time to...
We rehomed three (including the one that got my 8yr old) on Friday. I’ve got at least one more that I’m questioning at this point, but nobody’s crowed. I’m keeping a close eye on them all for sure!
Opinions on what this little one is?? It’s *supposed* to be Brahma. Approximately 5-6 weeks old. Purchased from a backyard breeder who is working on their own Isabel line. This was one of the “rejects”. But I’m questioning 😅 Also, it is scared to death of EVERYTHING. It only wants me when I’m...
Oh no! I’ve heard RIR roosters can be aggressive. A friend told me she’s had three (I think) at separate times and they were all mean. They became rooster noodle soup 😅 one of our RIR was definitely a cockerel and was already squaring up with our biggest Speckle Sussex cockerel. So the two of...
Thanks! I have older SS but I couldn’t remember at what point they were feathered out that much. And yeah, the brooder is in our basement and the lighting is terrible. It’s hard to get good pics down there between lighting and squirmy chicks 😅
We picked up these little pullets at Rural King last night. Any guesses on how old they might be based on feathering? Two Speckled Sussex and two Brahmas (one light, one buff).
