4 Lovely Laying Hens in Need of a Loving Home in Moorpark

We are located in Moorpark, CA. Please note that I've included an old picture, as it's the only one I have of them all together. They all have their combs and waddles grown out now. They hatched around the end of April. One white Sussex, one Rhode Island Red, and two Red Sex Links. All of them...

New flock members being bullied by everyone.

Sorry to hear about your loss♥️. I suppose I will have to keep her separated for the time being til I can find a place for her. Just sucks because she is attached to me and the others she grew up with. I'd rather find her someone where she can be safe instead of being terrorized by the others :/

New flock members being bullied by everyone.

I am trying to integrate a flock of 4 (~10 weeks) into a flock of 15 (~13 weeks). The problem is, the existing flock are red and black stars while my new flock are 2 red stars, a RIR, and what I believe to be a light Sussex. My Sussex cannot catch a break. Every time I try to let everyone out...

    Wound on Chicken Face

Feeders and waterers are good. I finally put all of them to roost together last night, so I am leaning towards the idea that it may have been someone that pecked her this morning.

    Wound on Chicken Face

I am currently integrating my flock of 4 into a flock of around 16. One of my chickens got nicked on her face. Is there any way to prevent infection? I have veterycin and Neosporin (which I am using), but how can I prevent infection if she's sticking her face in dirt all of the time?

Cigarette smoke near chick feed. Should I throw it out?

I have some chick feed left in its original bag that has been sitting on our garage floor for the past month or so. The bag opening has been rolled down. I am unsure if that feed can still be used. The main issue is that my relatives smoke cigarettes in the garage regularly and I don't know if...

Mixing Chicken Breeds in Coop. Will my Chickens survive??

I am worried that my chickens might be injured after adding them to an existing flock of 7 Black Sex Links and 7 Red Sex Links they are all roughly 2 months. My chicks are 6 weeks old. (They might be 7, but I'm counting from when I purchased them). One RIR, one light Sussex, and 2 Red Sex...

    New member!

My name is Jesse Peepman.( If you know, you know.) I am a brand new chicken owner. I currently own 4 6 week old chicks that I am slowly transitioning to my family's existing flock. I have one RIR, one light Sussex, and 2 red sex links. My favorite aspects of raising chickens are taking care...
