I have a morbid question that I don’t even know how to eloquently ask. Do you just dispose of the egg or do you make sure it’s actually gone? I never expected this to happen and I’m heartbroken that it did. I guess I was hoping it was a “meant to be” situation. I feel silly crying like this, but...
Oh my goodness, I didn’t realize. I thought (through what I had read, that maybe it was due to lack of space because it was growing). I had called the wildlife center and they said I could keep doing what I was doing and call them if help was needed once it hatched. I feel SO bad. Thank you for...

June 21, Day 30
Nothing is happening. I’m so scared I did something wrong. Here is a candling done a little while ago. I don’t see any movement. I VERY GENTLY rotated the egg and there seemed to be a little fluid move my towards the bottom of the duck area. I don’t know what to do. Please help...
We’ve kept humidity up and have been looking for pipping. Nothing happened. We thought because it was not in with its mama, maybe the temps weren’t perfect or we did something wrong. We did read that it can take a little longer if temps are a little lower. Black-bellied Whistling Ducks typically...
June 17-19, Days 26-28
Lockdown began. Didn’t turn egg anymore and brought humidity up to 65-70% as I read to do. I didn’t handle or candle at this time.
June 15, Day 24
Movement still seen, but duck egg has changed. I read that this is normal as maybe it’s because the duck is getting bigger and less room in there
We quickly set up a brooding box and researched what to do when and if this happens. We set up a heat lamp and turned the egg every eight hours like clockwork. On Day 5, we began candling the egg. The journey begins.
Please help. On May 22, there were two Black-bellied Whistling Ducks in my yard, under the bird feeder. The next morning, a lone egg was found. (I will post various posts in this thread to keep things in order).
