    Update: Before I could get the dewormer she started having diarrhea. (See added pic.) Would deworming still be an appropriate next step or is it time for a trip to the (emergency) vet? I have a 6 year old Easter Egger who still averages 4 eggs a week. I realized yesterday it had been 4 days...

    How hot is too hot for 12 week old chicks?

    Thank you! They have a wading pool (about 18” x 4” deep) they can climb into, but I’m concerned with those temps the water will get warm. I guess I’ll just make sure to fill it in the morning with cool water. Maybe I’m just overthinking this.🤞🏼

    Thank you! I had him first, so it took a bit of time and training for me to have confidence he had accepted the chickens as his to guard. Now I have the safest chickens. ❤️

    Thanks for the add. I’ve had chickens for several years, but my original flock of 4 was down to one lonely Easter Egger who was reduced to hanging out with the dogs for company. Looking back, there were things I wish I’d understood better when I got my first girls, so I’m here for education...
