Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Someone suggested South Lyon to me. It looks like there are more houses on numerous acres of land. Anyone live there or know people who live there?

Hahaha I've driven through Garden City. I def. think that would be low on our places to buy a house ;). My husband so far is really interested in Novi and Northville but both of those seem to be lacking in horse properties.

Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Right now we are renting in Livonia but my husband isn't willing to go farther west than Ann Arbor. It seems like most of the more rural areas are up North :(.

Michigan Thread - all are welcome!

Hello everyone! We raised chickens in Arizona but we just moved to Michigan a month ago. We are only renting right now and we intend to buy a house in a year when our lease is up. Are any of you located in the metro Detroit area? I just see suburban area everywhere and I'm worried I won't...

"Johnson Ranch, Rancho Bella Vista, and Meadow Vista. Did you ask anyone if you could have chickens, or did you just decide for yourself and deal with complaints when they come? I'm starting to wonder if I should try being sneaky and if I get a complaint say that the rules sounded like chickens...

Quote: Which HOA's did you check? I live in San Tan Valley and I've read the rules very closely. They say any animal is allowed in the yard as long as it "doesn't bother the neighbors". Thus far we've had no problems and it's been about a year we've had them.

I know it's not the same kind of infection I was just asking if it was similar and that's the first example I could come up with since I'm a dog groomer . None of mine have any respiratory problems I have noticed thus far. I will def. add the ACV to our waterers. This is the first summer we...

Quote: I know it doesn't cause it- that's why I said "stimulates it". My word choice probably was not the best for what I intended it to mean but that's what happens when I post at 7 AM while sipping my coffee . What I meant was that moisture promotes the infection. Not that it's the direct...

Quote: and moist conditions can stimulate this disease? One of my friends uses a mister as well in her coop..should I tell her that it's a good idea not to do this? I just spray the coop down in the early afternoon just enough so that it stays damp through the hot time but is dried up by...

Hello again everyone. I ended up purchasing two 6 week old Speckled Sussex pullets from the feed store last Sunday. We were just so close when we were at church that I had to ask hubby if we could swing by and just see what they had. They had those, 4 week old Buff Orpingtons that I was...

Hello everyone. It's been a while since I posted last but I came on here to let everyone know I lost 2 chickens in the past month due to heat. The first one was one of the Barred rocks I raised from chicks and the second we just lost today was a brown EE. We just started to try this idea out...

Hi everyone! I'm just popping in to say hello. I haven't been on the forums for a while because our life got a little busy there. Thankfully the school semester is ending so we have a bit more time although I'm taking up a second job (another dog grooming job) for the summer. I hope everyone...

"I'd be interested in keeping no more than 4 chickens and would be for eggs not meat and hopefully they'd be a quiet breed." ThinkinBoutChickensInAz- I'm just going to warn you, I said that in October and now I have 8 :x. It all started off with us buying four little babies from a feed store...

Quote: That's what we were guessing. We had a large brown egg tonight..was that from the white girl? 5pinkarrows- We are actually about an hour from Phoenix so I'm not sure if we are still considered in the Phoenix area. We are South East of that area so it's a bit more rural than the rest...

Quote: Houses out in San Tan Valley are almost just as cheap and in a bit nicer of neighborhoods (if you or your kids would be willing to move that far). When we were looking for houses we saw some as low as $50,000 that were in superb condition, just needed a little cleaning up. These were...
