    Hen mourning the loss of Rooster

    No such thing as a bachelor flock. Roosters will fight each other till the death. Plus, it is extremely difficult to rehome roosters. No one wants them due to the problems they cause for the hens, unfortunately. Sometimes culling a rooster is all you can do.
