I have 4 chickens that are just over 22 weeks. 2 Wyandottes and 2 EE. Both the Wyandottes combs and waddles have turned dark pink/red. But I do live in Cleveland Ohio. Here’s a pic of 3 of the 4.
I have 2 Wyandottes and 2 Easter eggers that are 16 weeks…what are the chances of them laying anytime soon? I’m in Northeastern Ohio ..Will I get eggs this year? Or will they wait till spring?
This is so helpful! Thank you! The one pic she looks like a tiny Dino lol. So precious. My girl is also very slow maturing she’s the smallest for sure. And the most timid. I wish I would’ve gotten a lavender and buff too. lol.
I don’t live to far from Meyers (about a hour drive) and their emails definitely have me day dreaming of more chicks but I need more space. So self restraint is needed lol.
I know it’s early but I really liked the idea of starting the thread early and posting updates for thoughts and opinions as they mature.
Here is my Blue Orpington. She was purchased from Meyer on August 19th as a day old chick so today makes her 5 weeks.
She has combs and starting to develop...
Here’s an update to post on the same thread! 9 weeks this week Dorothy is the BLW and Sophia (the black and gold one with waddles but no coloring in her comb) is supposed to be a GLW
Here’s an update on my EE. I never thought to come back to this post for updated pics! Pics 1, 6, 7, &8 are of Blanche and the other 4 are of Rose (one of them you can see both Blanche and Rose in the same pic) they’re 9 weeks old now
That’s very encouraging. These are my son’s pets so we’re hoping for hens. No roosters allowed and my neighbors aren’t thrilled we have chickens at all. So we will keep an eye and ear out!! Thank you!
