Well it is a valid point what rooster do you have which breeds is in your flock etc etc etc and if they all together you will have a mix breed chick between rooster and that specific hen and if you have mixed rooster it will become a lot more complicated
You must be careful with the eggs being so dirty when you want to hatch them can have bacteria on but you also cant wash a hatching egg so try pick nice clean ones or wipe down carefully
Like most animals pretty easy to win over FOOD will always do it! I have a lot of chickens and most of them eat from the hand and if you sit down with food some will jump up on your lap and they do come when I call them
I help them out sometimes but it doesnt always end well but try to open some more and see if he will try to get out it shouldnt take more than a day from first pip
They are about 7 months old 10 of them that live in here they have a house with run and then free range camp ,pretty dry here now coming out of winter !
