Good question! And no we don't have ants like that. My guess is one is getting bullied - hence the sores on her comb - been watching them on the cameras the last couple of days. The others for their feet - not sure what is going on - I think maybe bugs in the tall grass and/or cutting...
Thank
Thank you so much. I have been treating them with the ointment and a spray.
One has this on her comb and above one of her eyes.
This one does not have any on her feet.
I removed hardware cloth that I had wrapped around my fig tree, thinking maybe they got hurt trying to get to the figs.
I have 6 girls
One has these. On her feet
I checked another one and she has one. I’ll check the other four this evening

Here is the chick at 14 weeks. I need to know if it is a roo or not. I am new to chickens and have not had a roo before - and really am unsure I want a roo. Hoping you can help identify that from these pictures. Along...
I got a fertilized egg from a neighbor as I had a broody hen. The chick has hatched and I think she is a pullet at 8 weeks now. This was a great way to hatch one and mom does all the work.

I have an eglu cube with a large run. They only coop to sleep at night or to get to the nesting boxes to lay. I leave the coop open in the warmer Arizona months which is most of the year - it is closed in the winter when temps dip down into the 40's.
I had 3 banties and 1 large (biefelder) in...
