Gasping hen and bloated begin leg area…why?

How much is the dosage of each of these supplements? Specifically interested in the hawthorn, but I'm sure others would need to know how much to give of these as well.

Ok, thank you. Treating her again for sour crop because seems like she has that again. :(

    Chicken refuses to eat?

No canker or lesions. Nothing in the throat I can see either. I dewormed her couple of weeks ago with safeguard for 5 days and this last week she has gotten acidified copper water for 7 days.

    Chicken refuses to eat?

@Wyorp Rock Well, she was starting to eat more of her snacks and even eating some out of the feeders, but never got to where she was even close to eating enough to actually sustain herself (crop still felt empty after she "ate"). So we're still torpedo feeding her, and over the last couple of...

    Chicken refuses to eat?

We put her back with the flock before we started torpedo feeding her in hopes they would encourage her to eat. She's been back with them for days now. She did show some interest in eating treats again today though! YEA! At least a step in the right direction. :)

    Chicken refuses to eat?

@Wyorp Rock So, I've been torpedo feeding her since Thursday and she still has not had any interest in eating on her own. :( She will still only drink. There is no canker or lesions in her mouth either. Thoughts? Is she hopeless on getting back to normal?

    Chicken refuses to eat?

I haven't noticed any Canker or lesions when I tube her, but I'll look more closely tomorrow to see if I see anything. I will also try the torpedo feeding and see if that works. Didn't even know what that was. Thanks!

    Chicken refuses to eat?

K, need some advice. I've been treating a sick chicken for over 2 weeks now. (see original issues here: https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/sick-chicken-not-eating-well-not-really-pooping-water-belly.1662097/#post-28574321) We drained her water belly, treated her bumblefoot (still...

Sick Chicken: Not eating well, not really pooping, water belly??

So just checked her again, and her crop still has a bulge that's about a large egg size. I would think the fluid we gave her from over 6hrs ago would have already gone through her system by now. Still just has the draining runny poo, but not even enough to show up on the shavings in her pen...

Sick Chicken: Not eating well, not really pooping, water belly??

I started her on the enrofloxacin Tuesday night. Drats. Hoping it was something curable. :(

Sick Chicken: Not eating well, not really pooping, water belly??

I have a 2 yr old golden laced wyandotte that is my one eyed blind chicken (from about a year ago-not sure from what). She has done great with her blindness up until 2 days ago when she wouldn't come eat her chicken snacks, which is unusual for her. She was walking around, but she had her tail...

    Coccidiosis?? Juvenile Chickens

Thank you so much! This is what I'll do then. I thought it was originally intestinal shedding, but since I kept seeing it almost daily made me think otherwise.

    Coccidiosis?? Juvenile Chickens

I recently got some new chickens (2nd batch) at the end of Nov, and we've always started our new chicks on medicated feed (just recently read that's probably not the best feed for them but it's what we used with our first batch back when young and dumb so didn't change 😣). I've seen some bloody...

    Howdy!

I am semi-new to raising chickens, started raising my first batch of chickens in 2023. We just recently got a new batch of chickens that are about 13 wks old. We have several different breeds: Silver Lakenvelder, Lavender & Buff Orpington, Blue Australorps, Golden Laced Wyandottes, Dominque...
