She came out of the coop with her friends this morning and was eating. I had a family emergency and had to leave so I couldn't watch her but she seems to be doing better. Not 100% but definitely signs of improvement.
Other than not much interested in food, shes walking around, standing and chirping. But I've never had my chickens want to eat when they're in chicken jail so it could just be that.
I felt around her neck and the only thing I could feel was i guess best described as a small lump on the back of her neck that she didn't seem to care for me touching. She's gone into potato mode like they do when they sleep so it's hard to feel under her beak area. I'm going to keep her inside...
She's napping and chirps at me if i disturb her but otherwise acting normal. Doesn't seem interested in walking though but I know she can. She did earlier when I set her down to try and Guage where she was at.
Hi, I joined for the advice on raising chickens. I've had chickens for about 7 years now. Currently I have 8 hens. I built their coop and have remodeled as needed.
She hasn't yet, but it hasn't been that long since it happened, maybe an hour and a half. I brought her inside in case she was in shock and it's cold out. And I wasn't sure if she would be able to roost either. I was debating on taking her to the coop.
My speckled Sussex hen was injured, she had her neck in the car door and we didn't see her until the car door was almost shut. At first it looked pretty grim but then she perked up some. I cannot see any visible injuries, her wings seem to not have been injured and she can hold and move her head...
