Hi everyone! I am very new to chickens, this is my first time hatching fertilized eggs. I have two broody silkies, one has been broody for one month and has eggs that will hatch this weekend. The other has been broody for one week and her eggs will hatch in a few weeks. Hei Hei, the one who has...

My 6 month old Orpington diarrhea, white around vent and now limping.

Hi again! I’m sorry I keep messaging I’m just worrying that I’m doing the right thing. Her diarrhea is green, both wings are drooping (she has no control over them) she cannot walk, one leg seems to be totally paralyzed now. The other one she is pedaling. The twisted neck has gotten worse she is...

My 6 month old Orpington diarrhea, white around vent and now limping.

Thank you so much. This is sort of what I was afraid of. We feed Mile Four Layer feed because my other hens are laying. She also has free time in the yard usually 6-8 hours a day which she spends foraging. This is so sad. I stopped the b complex once she was back in the coop with the other...

My 6 month old Orpington diarrhea, white around vent and now limping.

Hi everyone! After a few weeks of her doing great and enjoying free foraging in our yard she started limping again yesterday and is now twisting her neck. I have no idea what I am missing but she is back in the cage in the garage because she can’t really move. Does anyone know what it could be...

My 6 month old Orpington diarrhea, white around vent and now limping.

Thank you so much for asking! She is amazing. She is back with the others, her poop is normal and she isn’t limping. Actually when I put her back out there, I realized that one of my silkies was picking on her so I think she was injured and that was the reason for the limping. So I did a...

My 6 month old Orpington diarrhea, white around vent and now limping.

Thank you so much I have amended her diet and trying to flush her out with plain water. Of course I have called around and can’t find an avian vet near me. I’m worried about her leg because it does seem like the injury is up higher; her foot doesn’t seem to bother her it’s her thigh.

She’s moving a bit more today but do you see how it seems her pain is up on her thigh because she has no support for her actual foot. I’m worried it’s mareks and I’m just too new to chickens to recognize it.

Red specks in my chickens poop - is this blood! Cause for concern?

I hope I didn’t hurt them with what I gave! They are laying consistently and acting okay. Ahh lesson learned.

My 6 month old Orpington diarrhea, white around vent and now limping.

Thank you so much. I have a lot to learn. She is really not able to put weight on her right leg, she’s not moving much at all. I don’t see any lesions are open wounds I wonder if it’s something internal. She may have gotten her foot caught under the stand up heaters in their coop as she liked to...

Red specks in my chickens poop - is this blood! Cause for concern?

I am still learning here. I read conflicting information that they were good for the gut and have now read that they are not. I was trying to give them exciting treats because they are stuck in their run due to the weather. I need to just stick to their food and when we see the grass again here...
