    Droopy Wing

She is separated. About 6 months old. I did end up finding quite a bit of lice on her. My first experience with them. Treated her and the coop with permethrin dust. I've never done a fecal float, but I will look into it. Thank you!

    Droopy Wing

I just picked this chicken up from a breeder. I don't know how I didn't notice earlier, but she has droopy wings. Should I be concerned?

Duck attacked by predator not sure how to bandage or medicate

I know this is an old post, but I just wanted to show my appreciation for the reassurance it gave me. Earlier this year our duck was mauled by a neighbor's dog who jumped our fence and had a similar injury. I definitely thought we would have to put him down, but this post convinced me otherwise...

New Rooster has bad case of mites

Everything has been cleaned up and he has been released to the flock. His bedding was changed every two days when isolated. I noticed the mites hatched again several days after his first treatment. It's been 10 days since his second treatment and there are no sign of them.

New Rooster has bad case of mites

Here's an update on our rooster! I think we are finally mite free. He was treated twice with Cydectin and I did end up dusting him with DE after the mites came back around a second time. He is still a little inflamed, but looking better and hopefully feeling better too.

New Rooster has bad case of mites

Thanks for all of the advice. It looks terrible, but it's been 24 hours since treatment and there is already much less movement.

New Rooster has bad case of mites

This is the first time I've ever dealt with mites. We picked up a rooster from a breeder and I didn't think to check. But it looks like a pretty bad case. Luckily, he was isolated. He is not too far from my coop though. How easily do these things spread? I've given him some pour on Cydectin...

Price for 5 week old Salmon Favorelle Pullets?

Thanks! I feel the same way about the auctions, which is why we decided to hatch in the first place. I'd hate for them to pick something up 🥺 One other question because it sounds like you hatch often. Should I keep a spare pullet around for the roo until he's big enough to be outside? Or do you...

Price for 5 week old Salmon Favorelle Pullets?

Recently hatched some of our SF eggs, because we needed a new a new roo for the flock. Got our roo, but we're not looking to expand the flock any further. I was thinking about bringing them to auction, but would rather sell local. Any thoughts on pricing?
