Oh wow you poor things..
I must admit i got my coops cleaned and nest box filled yeterday along with full feeders so today i parked myself on the couch in front of the wood stove and drank hot chocolate, till i went to gather todays eggs Even the birds didn't want anything to do with this crazy...
I use DE more in the summer than winter, I fill a wadeing pool with play sand and a few cups of DE the birds dust away and have a grand time. We eat our eggs, i also sell eggs when i have extra and no problems what so ever...
It is useless though once it gets wet thats why i mainly use it when...

the birds are laying as flat as they can sun bathing it is a real sight to see them so flat and still breathing LOL.....
To bad it isn't going to last..... the mudd did not dry up, but the dogs smell better...

can also hatch purebred SS's; but I have no way of sexing them. You'd have to take a straight run and then eat or sell the extra roos.
My broodies are still on strike, guess they want more sun!!!!!

My Last hatch we lost power for 5 hours and we where on day 7 out of 45 eggs 27 hatched....
We fired up the wood stove and covered the bator...
and prayed!
Now i'm going el'natural and letting the girls do it all;)
