    Is this a Marian?

To determine if your chicken is a Marans, look for its specific characteristics, such as the dark, chocolate-brown eggs it lays, or a combination of traits like an iridescent black or copper-colored feathering, feathered legs and feet, and a medium to large body size. You can also check its size...

    Fowl pox?

Yes, sadly. In my experience with fowl pox it usually goes away on its own.

    I'm new

Sadly, I don't yet. Me and my family turned dog cages, hog traps, and our old playground into pens. lol. We are planning on setting up a nice pen; we have it all blueprinted and planned out, so praying that that will work out in time.

    I'm new

Hey, I'm new on backyard Chickens! I want to tell a little about myself. I have had chickens for 5 years, I also have turkeys, ducks, peacocks, and Guinea Fowl. I have around 250-300 chickens. I am hoping to eventually start up my own hatchery, any suggestions on the best way to start?

    TSC chicks

Chicks from Tractor Supply usually are any where from 2-8 or 9 days old. If they have feathers on their wings, they are probably about 5-6 days old. If not they are probably a little younger.

They're not eating any of the feed I buy now

There is nothing wrong with your birds. My chickens also refuse to eat those feeds. I switched to Nutrena Hi-Pro Scratch. They love it. Also try feeing them a 16% Protein Layer. They should eat that.

    Extreme heat issues

I live in Texas, and have a flock of around 200-250 chickens. Temperatures get anywhere from 90-110 °F in the summer 🥵. Is two roos one too many for 13 hens??

If you are trying to mate them for meat, I would keep the larger one, and get rid of the smaller one. I have around 200-250 chickens and I just separate my males when I don't want them mating. (Also if the two roosters are together in a cage without females, they won't crow. Don't know if that...

    Shell cracked but not membrane??

If it has been more than 24 hours, you need to just get the chick out using a needle carefully or maybe tweezers, that keep it in the incubator until it is moving around on its own. You can then put it back with its mom.
