Okay unfortunately I dont know the breed or age of this chicken because I got them from a friend who originally thought they were Easter Eggers but I don’t think they are. They have little mohawks. But one of them has a big red comb and the others comb is still tiny.
Got these Bantam Silkies who are about 3 months old now. I can’t figure out if these two are roosters or hens so wondering if you guys have a better idea. As always TIA (let me know if these pictures are hard to tell)
7 weeks! I just added the age and breed. Im new to chickening but this one would chase my hand out of the brooder and is always alert while the others are more relaxed.
The infamous question- what is your guess on this chicken. ROOSTER OR HEN? We are not allowed roosters where I live (going to try to keep him as long unless someone complains or he gets mean) so I would like to set up arrangements if need be.
This one is about a 7 week old Saphire Olive Egger.
Infamous question of rooster or hen. We are not allowed roosters where we live. So if we need to set up arrangements id like to prepare. (We will keep him as until someone complains or he starts getting mean) We have a friend who offered to take him if need be and breed him so we could have his...
Hi! We’ve been building our coop and have done extensive research on what we need/want for our flock. But im really curious to know everyones personal MUST HAVES that makes their chicken tending easier and their chickens life's better. Is there a feeder/water system that you love? Is there any...
I got my chicks a week ago today, so they are still very young. But I am noticing them pecking at the shavings in their brooder like they’re looking for food even with a full feeder of starter crumbles. Are they just exploring with their beaks or are they getting sick of this food? And are there...
Thank you again for the help and condolences. It was too late im thinking but I ran around and tried harder than I would have if I was the sick one lol. I will definitely take way more precautions and preventative measures next round of chicks! For now I can promise if these others make it, I...
Thank you for the condolences. It was tough but i’m trying to give myself grace as I tried my best. I know now to start the treatment earlier if I get more chicks next spring. I have one more sick Silkie who hasn’t perked up yet. The others 4 are great in their freshly cleaned brooder with...
Am I able to give them a couple drops of Corid off of my finger or safer with a syringe to measure? And when I get the syringe how much do i give? A couple drops? Im having a hard time understanding the link for dosage since they're SO little and dont know exact weight.
Thank you for the detailed help! As i asked before trying to figure out where to find something small enough to measure and use as dropper. Ive read a qtip to help with the corrid water mix?
Thank you so so much. Ive read a couple times for the liquid 9.6% its 2 tsp to 1 gallon ratio. Im not doing anything yet except isolating until I get some more replies.
