    Scabbing on chicken toenail.

Hello! I know this originated from 3 little cuts. (At minimum). It’s a hard little scab. I am soaking. Applying salve and/or neosporin. 3 toes were involved. Not sure how it happened tho. What do yall recommend? How long should I anticipate the recovery with this process? It’s been like 4-5...

    Orpington pullet or roo?

Thinking about picking these 2 up. I ended up with more Roo’s last time & way out of ratio, I can’t risk on keep getting roosters. My 2 current girls are getting worn out. Anyone more familiar with lavender & buff orpingtons know if these are m/f? Lavender is 9 weeks, buff is 7. Supposedly.

    Orpington Roosters?

These are both roosters, correct? The one in the front is attempting to crow, it’s comb came in after the one in the backs comb. They’re both roosters, correct? Their tail feathers look different to me.

    Male/Female Ratios

We currently have 4 chickens. 2 female and looks like our 2 orps are male. Will be getting rid of one Roo. How vital is it to get at least 2 more hens? I don’t want them to get hurt from over mating. Any advise appreciated! 😊

    Run Flooring

Thank you! The sand was very attractive for cleanliness. I like to hangout with them, and would prefer them to be as clean as possible due to this. I think it almost looks nicer too. I may just see how it goes with deep litter first & then sand at some point. If you have any pros & cons list...

    Run Flooring

Thank you! I’m really considering the sand option for cleanliness but probably going to go for deep litter for a while to see how I like it plus I can use compost.

    Hurt Chick Leg

She seems to be doing better today. Seems like she is stepping on the hurt leg with the other? But she wants to fly around and run with the other babies.

    Hurt Chick Leg

I don’t see any swelling. She is actually the bigger or the 2 americauna. She seems to be moving around a bit more on it today… I’m hoping it was just a sprain. We have one that likes to bite the others, so maybe it was the other chic

    Hurt Chick Leg

Got 4 chicks about a week ago. This one girl is not putting any pressure on her leg. No visible injuries, both bottoms of feet look the similar, doesn’t appear to be bumblefoot. I’m not sure if straddle leg or not? It doesn’t look like it’s growing to the side? I noticed this last night. She has...
