I am obsessed with the colors of these Diamond Duchess eggs from my 3 girls! The light one on the second row is actually a very pale blue. We’re still getting various sizes, and the big ones almost always have double yolks (which is fine by me because I love toast dipped in runny egg yolks...
Just wanted to share the eggs one of my Diamond Duchesses laid over the past 4 days (in order left to right; store bought egg added for size reference). Only one of my 3 DD’s are laying so far, but I’m expecting another one to start any day now because her comb has gotten really red. I also have...
I’m so eggcited because one of my girls’ combs has turned red and the other two are getting redder. Hopefully we will see some of those beautiful eggs soon!
It’s the opposite actually. The Lavender Orpingtons are a week-ish older than the Duchesses. Here’s another angle on #1. Hopefully Aretha Featherlin isn’t actually an Arthur. Hoping all are pullets, but if one ends up being a rooster, I have a home lined up.
This doesn’t help with the photos I shared yesterday, and I still can’t tell some of them apart. But maybe you can

Thanks! I have trouble telling them apart! Let me try? Sorry, I somehow uploaded a bunch of duplicates and couldn’t figure out how to fix it. An admin had to help me.
All are supposed to be pullets, and a few are a day or two older than the others. I’m suspicious of a couple of the lavender orpingtons so I’m wondering what others think. Orpingtons are about 7 weeks, Diamond Duchesses are about 6 weeks. Purchased at Family Farm & Home. All very sweet and sociable.
I have 3 DD chicks, 4 weeks old. I believe they are starting to develop crests (and I’m quite excited about it). I actually think there aren’t any real photos of them because they’re a brand new cross-breed. I’ve also seen somewhere where someone was saying they got someone from FFH to confirm...
Haha I’ve already been a victim of chicken math slightly. I started with just the 5 Orpingtons and then saw the Diamond Duchesses when I was at the feed store buying supplies. They’re supposed to lay colored eggs. It’s a new breed exclusive to Family, Farm & Home stores that from what I’ve...
Thank you! I’ll check it out!
I honestly wasn’t even the one who was most excited about getting chickens, but once we got them home, they became a bit of an obsession, hah! I am finding it a nice break from my busy day-to-day work life, and I enjoy just watching them, holding them, petting...
Here is my new flock! I have 5 Lavender Orpingtons (5 weeks old) and 3 Diamond Duchesses (4 weeks old - chicken math… I needed more), and I’m brand new to raising chickens. We’ve been talking about doing this for years, and now that my son is almost 3, we thought this would be a fun way to start...
