    Prairie bluebells...any early guesses?

I know. She thinks they're all pullets but obviously it's too early to tell. I think there's a chance two of them are but thought I'd check with everyone else. Hope the tide turns for you!

    Prairie bluebells...any early guesses?

I will be picking them up tomorrow from someone off of FB. They would actually be second gen Prairie Bluebells so not true PBE. Maybe the one in back reverted back to the leghorn leg color? I'm basically expecting a mixed bag but hoping for at least 2 pullets 😀

    Prairie bluebells...any early guesses?

Any early guesses on gender? Wondering if the one in the back with the bigger comb might be a cockerel? Suppose to be Prairie Bluebells, maybe the color pattern offers a clue? I know they're really too young. Just for fun, thank you 😀

Help, please. Did a Turkey Vulture get my poor hen?

I do have one that I've never used, but I will put it up tomorrow for sure. I will keep the chickens in their fully enclosed pen in the meantime ❤️

Okay, thank you. That is helpful so we actually know what we are dealing with.

Help, please. Did a Turkey Vulture get my poor hen?

Okay, I guess they could have been her tail feathers. She is mostly white but did have some a little black back there. Thank you again, we will keep the chickens in for awhile and keep an eye out for ground predators. Really appreciate the prespective.

Help, please. Did a Turkey Vulture get my poor hen?

Interesting, thank you for the reply! Where would the large feathers have come from in this case? She was a light Brahma. Definitely those other feathers were not hers.

Help, please. Did a Turkey Vulture get my poor hen?

We have had a Turkey Vulture circling around for several weeks now. They showed up when some road kill appeared on one of the main roads about a 1/4 mile away. I did my research but was still careful when it would come around. We have 6 hens and a good rooster. They free range whenever we are...

Is this White Rock a roo?

Hi! I have read that Plymouth Rocks can be sexed younger based on redness of combs/wattles. Is this true, and if so, do I have a pair here? All photos are of the suspected roo only with the one photo showing both the obvious pullet and the possible roo together. About 5 weeks old. Thank you!

    Tiny Jersey Giant or imposter?

Hi, sorry, I replied to you but not directly to you so just letting you know it's on the thread :) I would also add that the only other breed she was offering at the time that are similar are Sapphire Gems. Thank you :)

    Tiny Jersey Giant or imposter?

From a local lady who I believe buys hatching eggs and incubates them. I didn't pick them out since she was kind enough to deliver to me 45 min away so I went ahead and accepted the small chick. She had an ear infection earlier this week but it healed quickly after treatment. I have been...

    Tiny Jersey Giant or imposter?

Hi! This little lady is supposed to be the sister of the Blue Jersey Giant pullet you see in the photos. While she looks like a BJG she is so tiny! They are about 9 to 10 weeks old and I've had them for 5 weeks. They came together and were both fully feathered so they should be the same age. Is...

Does anyone know about this cheek wound?

Hi! Can anyone help me identify if this is a known condition or what the possibilities are? A little back story. This young lady is suppose to be a Blue Jersey Giant. At 7-8 weeks old she is less than half the size of the BJG pullet and cockerel she came with. She is about half the size of the...
