    NY chicken lover!!!!

Quote: Well I went to pick up a pair of Red- Golden Pheasants. They were great, put them in the pen with my very calm Peafowl, watched them all day to see if there would be any issues. Nothing. Went to bed, woke up this morning and the female is gone. I thought she was big enough not to fit...

Our birds are doing well. I let the hens out of their run and they seem to find cool spots. The chicks are the ones I was worried about they are in a cage on our covered deck even with two fans running it was getting to 85-87 degrees! They did ok yesterday, I hope that was the last of it!

Hi Vanessa, It's great to hear from you! We adopted a rescue chicken that was found wandering around the street in Brooklyn! At the time I wondered where she was from and how she could live in Brooklyn and now I see, a rooftop chicken coop. When we called a pet rescue to see if they ever got...

Hi, We have Agway here about 15 miles away, I buy Nature's Best organic food there. Over the winter I have to call ahead for them to order it for me but yesterday I went and they had 16 bags! I never saw meal worms there though. The chickens seem to be getting lots of bugs right now in the...

    I feel silly asking . . . .

But, I have a few chickens, a coop and a run. Their food is in hanging feeder in the coop, where how do most of you give your small flocks their greens and scratch? It seems strange to throw it in the run because they poop in there, but I really can't imagine getting the dish clean again! Thanks!

    Breed question

de-beaked! How will she manage with other chickens? She was found on the streets in Brooklyn and I asked them to send a picture before I would go pick her up. She is in the back of a dollar store right now and the store owner is keeping her tied with a string to keep her from running away.

    Long Island NY

I am new to this group and was looking for help finding a chicken. I raised two chicks over the summer and they were both full grown and laying beautiful eggs by July. This Monday I found one of the girls dead. I don't know what to do for Rhoda the other bird, everything I have read says that...
