I am thinking those are pullets too! They look similar to my 2! They’re 14 weeks old, so I am going to open up the nesting boxes soon. The rooster hasn’t crowed yet! And no idea how they’re friendly, especially compared to the rooster, he’s seriously such a chicken and hates being touched. My...
Yes!! They’re hefty omg here are my 3. The rooster is friendly so far, he’s kind of scared of everything. One always jumps on my shoulder and almost makes a honking sound. The other one is friendly too
I ended up putting peel and stick tiles in the coop floor. It’s covered with their bedding right now, which I went with hemp.
In their run I have a combo of sand and hemp, but still trying to figure that out!!
Yeah I was thinking of adding some sort of bedding on top of sand during winter time for sure!! I’ll stick with the method I have for the coop for now, it’s working, but for the run just going to take advice and see what works best
I live in NY. So it fluctuates! Rain, snow, hot and humid. Trying to get these goof balls to dust bath. They’re a trip though and I think I’ll give it a shot
Hi everyone.
First time chicken mama. I have 8 chickens right now that are 2 months old.
In our chicken coop we are using hemp bedding (with some PDZ and herbs sprinkled in), and I like it so far.
But I am trying to figure out what to do for their run. It’s a 8x8 run that is covered, but...
Hi friends. I have the over ez walk in coop and 8x8 run. I also have the run chicken automatic door going into the run. I cannot get the run flush up against the coop, so there’s a gap between the coop, run, and door area. What’s the best way to seal or secure it? Also there’s a few pics of the...
How are they doing?! I have 3 rainbow chickens. One started growing a red comb and waddles way before the other 2, so curious what it’ll end up being and curious about the other 2! One has extremely thick legs, but no red comb just a yellow one and no waddles
Not yet, I’ve slowly started putting them in a smaller tent when I clean out their brooder. I was planning on putting them in their coop this upcoming weekend but looks like the temps are going to dip down in the 50s. They absolutely love the sun, freaked me out the first time they were all...
I have 3 dark brahmas and now I can’t tell the difference between the 3 of them. I believe they all have the penciling like the hens should?! One does go after the others every now and then. So I’m confused. Thanks
I got 3 Rainbow Chickens from my local Agway which’s gets them from Hoover Hatchery. These ones are much bigger than the rest, they’re 4 weeks old. This is a picture of just one of them. Hen or roo? Too soon to tell? They are all pretty funny and the first ones to run over to me
I live in NY. I plan on doing peel and stick tile on the floor and I will be using hemp bedding and pine shavings in mine. I’m also debating putting a small horse stall mat in mine so it can get covered with poop then I can take it out and easily spray it down. I’ll also be using PDZ. In the...
Hello! First time chicken mommy. As of right now I have 3 dark Brahmas, 3 rainbow breed chickens, and 2 silver laced wyandottes. They’re all 4 weeks old
I live in Upstate NY and love to garden, hunt, and now love my lil chicks
I’ve learned a lot from backyard chickens so far!
Hi all. I have 4 week old dark Brahmas that all pretty much look exactly like this, not sure if it’s too soon to tell, but as you can see they’ve got some pretty big tail feathers and no combs as of yet! Any idea? Too soon to tell?
