    I just pick them out by hand, but I would love to have an easier, less time consuming way to separate the adults from the babies. My mealworm farm is booming! I have too many for my five chickens. I have since changed my process a little bit from this one also.

    IDK, it still doesn’t really make sense. The jars are not warm to the touch or anything and the gases should be escaping fine. But that must be it. 🤷‍♀️

    I only ferment for 3 days. It must be the jars. We bought them for a wedding and painted chalkboard paint on them; baking them for a period of time to set the paint. It must have weakened the jars. That is the only thing I can think of. Thank you to all who chimed in to try and solve the mystery!

    Well, they finally arrived and miraculously some are still alive! I just threw the whole lot into their bin with some apple cores and carrots and dampened some paper towel pieces to cover more area. Should I pick out the nonmoving ones or not worry about it?

    Brooder Enrichment

    I hung a jingle bell, and they also really like a small hand mirror from the Dollar Store. After moving them into the coop I hung the mirror up and stuck their baby perch in front of it and they were all trying to look at themselves, lol.
