I like this. I have some Christmas likes up too, some times the the younger ones wait to late to go into the coop and can't see to get on thr roost. It helps them find thier way then turn off the light. The days shorten very quickly in WA.
My understanding is that it's fine with chickens, for several generations. Breaders usually have multiple flocks and pick the favorites from each.. year often year .. I'm sure some mega expert will come on here with great info to help you out. 🥰 tons of knowledgeable peeps on here.

I'm not sure I know enough chicken language to explain the big differences. I think I just have to except the ones ones I got just don't exist anymore.
EE have that hump around the neck or head part she doesn't have that she is sleak. The EE have longer neck fethers and they are not structured...
We got two of them as pure Americana. (I can not find it anywhere now) we have had lots of EE they where definitely different. The tail and neck comb .. not the same.
Anyone know where you can get an Americana that is not an EE?
Who knows the breed of this brown hen? Had a gold colored one as well.
Was told it was an Americana.. every time I try to find an Americana now it's just an Easter Egger to me. This is not an Easter Eggers... are Americana not the same anymore. She is 5 and is still laying amazing blue eggs! 🤎
Update: Wednesday was day 20 two chicks hated pip and hatched below the line I have measured the air sack on day 18 when I messaged y'all about lock down had humidity. I left the incubator dry until the two piped at that point I got it to 50% and it went up when they hatch it's been pretty high...
TX🥰 I'm in WA now.. The green part 😊 makes sense that the humidity would go up. I have been watching somethings on dry hatching.. very interesting. Would like to try sometime.
