    Actually, in tech it is very acceptable to use mouses instead of mice. You can use either but I can say after decades of working in tech I have never heard mice used and it just doesn't sound right. The best way they could have said it so to skirt around it would have been to say "A" mouse is nice

    I don't think I would close them up. But, if you are hard set on doing it, you might could come up with some foam of some sort that is over sized just enough to jam in there and would be easy to pull back out without a mess. Something similar to this...
