Hen with impacted/pendulus crop… how do I treat?

Understood, thank you. Her crop is very firm and about the size of a tennis ball. Would firmness indicate impaction? She is such an enthusiastic eater that I wouldn’t be surprised if she ate something she shouldn’t, or just ate too much grassy goodness as they’ve had a lot of time outside of the...

Hen with impacted/pendulus crop… how do I treat?

I’ve read several older posts but I’m still not clear on what I should do. My sweet Fudge is a 9 month old Easter Egger. I noticed about a week ago from my window that she was bobbing her head around in a weird manner, but I didn’t think much of it. I thought maybe she was just doing her egg...

    Rooster?

Here’s 2 photos of 1 or both “cinnamon queens” in question. They both look very similar so not sure

    Rooster?

I got them from tractor supply, I hope they truly are cinnamon queens and therefore pullets. Time will tell… we’re not allowed to have roosters :(

    Rooster?

Oh okay interesting. These are my first chickens, learning as I go :)

    Rooster?

That is a cinnamon queen. We have 2 of those. We also have 2 barred rock both with more pronounced combs, one is more pink and the other pretty pale. It’s hard to know what’s typical from breed to breed

Help sexing Easter Eggers, 8 weeks old

Hello! I posted yesterday, but I’m posting again with better pictures today. We have 3 EEs. Fudge is the dark brown, I’m pretty sure she is a pullet. Freya is the golden one, unsure but leaning pullet. Rocky is the grey, really suspicious she’s a boy. Thanks for any input. They are 8 weeks old.

    Rooster?

Do you think if they are males they should have darker and more pronounced comb and waddle by this point(8 wks)? None of my 3 EEs have darker or pronounced comb/waddle. They are pale and tiny

    Rooster?

Yes the grey one is the one I’m most suspicious! Sometimes when she’s walking around the tail feathers “splay out” and seem to stand taller. She looks much different from the others, I have 2 other EEs

    Rooster?

I am very suspicious of the grey one. I’ll try to post a pic of the other ones face

    Rooster?

I hope it’s just the pattern! I love my girls and I don’t want to have to rehome any :( it’s my first time having chickens. I’m glad you and others said they are pullets

    Rooster?

Thanks! I heard something about if their neck feathers look pointy, then they might be cockerel so I wasn’t sure. I’ll check for the red/rust color

2 Easter eggers, not sure cockerel or pullet?

What is your guess? They are 8 weeks old

    Rooster?

We have 7 chickens and these 2 are Easter eggers that I’m worried are roosters. We aren’t allowed to have roosters unfortunately. They are 8 weeks old, how can I tell?

Is it ok to have a separate mobile run for chickens?

I have the producer pride coop with attached covered run for my 7 chickens. It is predator proofed and will be a great spot to keep them extra safe. I was thinking about getting one of the metal chicken runs from Amazon and put the girls in there each morning and then put them back in their...

When can my 4 week old chicks move to the coop officially?

Thanks so much! They do get pretty roudy when we bring them back inside at night for a bit… they just love being out. I’m sure I’ll be able to tell the difference.

When can my 4 week old chicks move to the coop officially?

Thanks so much for the tips! My husband is an electrician and he isn’t crazy about me running an extension cord out to the coop 😆 especially with rain and heavy dew like you mentioned. We have heavy dew almost every morning with how humid it has been. My girls are used to it being pretty dark…...
