How can I get rid of a cat?????????

I also do not like cats, so when I have a nuisance cat, or someone else's free range cat around my house (illegal and torturous method of killing removed by staff)

Are your hens paying for themselves?

I just got my first egg yesterday. I figure that with the coop that I built plus their feed so far, that the first egg cost about $3,000. It is lots of fun, but I don't think they'll ever pay for themselves.LOL

    First Egg Countdown

I got my first egg today! I'm not sure which girl laid it. They are all approximately 17 1/2 weeks old today. I was building a new brooder box for four new chicks that should be delivered next week, then taking a break, I went to the coop to check the nest boxes again... And there it was, next...

    Ordering chicks

I've never raised chickens before but I'm in the process of building a coop and have a question about ordering chicks from a hatchery. I'm thinking of ordering 15 chicks, a combination of several breeds. I've read on this site that sexing is not an exact science, other than sex-linked chicks. I...

I think I did good. Hardware cloth at .19 a sq ft

Thanks for the tip on hardware cloth. I just ordered what I think will be enough to use for my coop and run. I'm going to build a coop soon and I've been accumulating materials for construction, (windows, insulation, etc..) at bargain prices. I did buy a few rolls at our local TSC store recently...

    Learning from my rooster

I'm a new egg and just starting to learn things, but this sounds like great advice. When I complete my coop and acquire a flock, it's gonna be understood that I'm the head honcho... not the alpha roo.
