I think many people are just too afraid to be funny anymore. Too many people are walking through this site with a chip on their shoulder ready to be offended at the slightest provocation. It must be burdensome to take oneself so seriously.

I feed chopped oats with no problems.

I use more than most people would just to keep it about 4 inches deep for the deep litter method. It works well for me.

The rooster can "over work" the hens. If there are more hens then the less abuse they go through.
